Danielle Fishel's mom held onto a unique keepsake from the set of Boy Meets World, and she still has it today.
The actress opened up about the interesting memento (that has remained in her family's possession for the last three decades) on a recent episode of iHeartRadio's Pod Meets World, explaining why it holds a special place in her heart.
"I have the biggest chunk," Fishel admitted, referring to the hair she chopped off in season 4 episode "Hair Today, Goon Tomorrow." Her mother has kept a clump of her mane all these years and recently gifted it back to her daughter, who played Topanga Lawrence in the beloved series that ran from 1993 to 2000.
It was September 1996, and Fishel was more than ready to cut off inches of her hair, but the decision wasn't solely up to her. In a previous episode of the podcast, which she hosts with former co-stars Will Friedle (who played Eric Matthews) and Rider Strong (who played Shawn Hunter), the star admitted that she had to run her haircut by production, who decided to turn it into an episode.
"I was so excited. I was ready to get rid of it. It was gonna be my first adult haircut. I asked, and Michael [Jacobs] said at first, 'No, absolutely not. No, no, no.' And I continued, I persisted. And then he said, 'Okay, at least let me write an episode about it.'"
Fishel's mother was not the only one who got to keep a few strands of her child's hair. The Boiling Pot standout also decided to hand out a few bundles to the live audience after the episode wrapped.
