Obama Responds to Trump’s AI Arrest Video and Treason Claim

July 24, 2025

Former President Barack Obama has broken his usual silence after Donald Trump posted a disturbing AI-generated video of Obama being arrested, along with false accusations of treason.

In a strongly worded statement, Obama’s office said, “Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response. But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one.”

He went on to call the video and Trump’s accusations “bizarre,” “ridiculous,” and a “weak attempt at a distraction.”

Obama reminded the public that multiple investigations, including a 2020 report from the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by Senator Marco Rubio, confirmed that while Russia did try to influence the 2016 election, there was no evidence that actual votes were changed.

This marks one of the rare times Obama has directly responded to Trump’s public attacks. The use of AI to create misleading content has sparked concern from many, including lawmakers, tech experts, and media watchdogs.
