Dodgers 5 Reds 2
Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed just one run over seven innings to lower his ERA to 2.48, and snap the Reds (56-51) four game winning streak.
Yamamoto has a 0.95 ERA over his last three starts.
The Reds offense was held to two runs or less for the 35th time.
After scoring a run in the 1st, but stranding two runners in each of the first two innings, they did nothing until the 9th. With one out, Will Benson single in a run. Noelvi Marte struck out. TJ Friedl walked to load the bases. Matt McLain, representing the winning run, grounded out.
Chase Burns certainly held his own, allowing three runs, and striking out 10 over 5.2 innings.
Leading 3-1, the Dodgers played add-on with two runs off Scott Barlow in the 7th. A slumping Mookie Betts (7 for 50) led the Dodgers attack with two hits, a walk and three runs.
