Drew Baldridge covered an early 2000s anthem by Josh Turner when he joined brothers and hosting duo Dan and Reid Isbell on a recent episode of God’s Country.
Baldridge, known for the viral ballad “She’s Somebody’s Daughter,” shared his rendition of Turner’s “Your Man” while catching up with the Isbells. Turner released the unforgettable country hit on his 11-track studio album of the same title in 2006. That record also included singles “Would You Go with Me” and “Me and God.”
“Baby lock the door and turn the lights down low/ And put some music on that's soft and slow/ Baby we ain't got no place to go/ I hope you understand/ I’ve been thinking 'bout this all day long/ Never felt a feeling quite this strong/ I can't believe how much it turns me on/ Just to be your man”
“This week Reid and Dan host #1 artist, Drew Baldridge out in God’s Country. The three of them cover an array of topics from deer hunting in Illinois to taking chances to make your dreams come true. Drew breaks down how he’s the first independent artist to have a song go #1 at country radio. He shares how his wife has been steady throughout this entire process and how she inspired ‘She’s Somebody’s Daughter’ from the beginning.”
Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast in early January 2024. Some of the first guests to appear on the show include HARDY, Dustin Lynch, Colbie Caillat and others.
“One of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,” Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement when God’s Country launched. They hope to “bring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre — a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”
