Rap Rising: Metro Boomin Drops Anticipated Mixtape ‘A Futuristic Summa’

Metro Boomin is bringing that classic trap sound back with his brand-new mixtape.
On Friday, August 1, the Grammy Award-winning producer delivered his highly anticipated project A Futuristic Summa via Boomanati Worldwide/Mercury/Republic Records. Hosted by DJ Spinz, Young Metro's new mixtape takes fans back to an era of Southern Hip-Hop that helped develop a generation of rap stars. The project holds 24 tracks, including collaborations with Gucci Mane, Travis Porter, Young Dro, J Money, Quavo, Roscoe Dash, BunnaB, Waka Flocka Flame, Rocko, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Skooly, T.I., 21 Savage, Future, Lil Baby, and more.
Metro Boomin has been promoting the project for the past couple of months. He formally announced the mixtape on July 4 and slowly began revealing the special guests on social media. He promised to showcase an "all-new cast," and he did that by recruiting newer acts like BunnaB and YKNiece. However, he also recruited a slew of artists he hasn't collaborated with in years including Yung L.A., Rich Kids' Shad da God, Demetrius "Meany" Hardin of Shop Boyz and others.
The mixtape's stand-out hit "They Wanna Have Fun" featuring Gucci Mane, Young Dro, and Travis Porter sits at the top of iHeartRadio's Rap Rising playlist this week.
