Michael Jackson’s Rhinestone Sock Sells for Nearly Nine Thousand at Auction

August 5, 2025

A rhinestone-covered sock worn by Michael Jackson during a 1997 performance of Billie Jean has just sold at a French auction for $8,900.

The sock was discovered backstage by a technician after Jackson’s HIStory World Tour. It was later framed and kept in pristine condition for almost three decades.

Fans of the King of Pop are no strangers to high-priced memorabilia. Back in 2009, Jackson’s glitter glove worn during his first televised moonwalk sold for three hundred fifty thousand dollars. Other iconic items include an $80K fedora and a leather jacket from his 1984 Pepsi commercial, which sold for over $300k.
