Busta Rhymes wiped tears from his eyes after he received his well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The veteran rapper and actor approached the podium during a ceremony in Los Angeles on Friday, August 1. He was surrounded by his family and special guests like Big Daddy Kane, LL COOL J, Chuck D, his longtime friend Spliff Star, music executive Sylvia Rhone, Mona Scott-Young and Real 92.3's Big Boy, who emceed the event. Before the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce revealed his star, Busta Buss said he had to fight back tears as he began his speech.

"I really worked so hard and I never asked for a short cut. I never asked for a cheat code," Busta said while holding his tears. "I never was raised by people or artists or a support system that made it seem ok to try and go around honestly earning your right to passage, and I want to thank those people right now."

Busta Rhymes began by thanking his parents and recalled his introduction to Hip-Hop while he was a kid in cool. He told the story about how he got dissed by another rapper and wrote his response after listening to LL COOL J's Bigger And Deffer album. The rest is history. Busta Rhymes also thanked his special guests including Chuck D.

“I want to thank you Chuck for giving me my first shot and being one of the first to believe in me," he said. "I say you gave me the name even though you say you presented it. If you didn’t present it, it probably wouldn’t have been one of the greatest gifts in my life because my name before Busta Rhymes was Chill-O-Skee.”
