DDG was temporarily detained after someone swatted him during a paintball tournament, and it was all captured on camera.

According to a report TMZ published on Monday, August 11, the rapper-streamer was in the middle of a livestream in Castaic, just north of Los Angeles, when he was approached by sheriff's deputies who drew their guns. They placed him in handcuffs and briefly detained him while the camera was rolling. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department had responded to a call on Sunday from someone who claimed a male adult brandished and fired a gun before threatening to harm people. After investigating the scene, police determined the phone call was phony.

"The anonymous caller fabricated a claim that DDG was armed and threatening people, which led to an unnecessary and heavily armed police response to a peaceful paintball live stream event," said DDG's attorney and manager, Dimitri Hurt. "This reckless and malicious act disrupted the tournament, caused unnecessary panic among attendees, and put everyone present -- including law enforcement -- in harm’s way."

No one in the area had a gun on them, and the police let DDG go. Hurt said DDG was "deeply shaken" by the "incredibly distressing and traumatizing experience." However, the "Blame The Chat" artist managed to recap the situation in a video he posted to his YouTube channel. As of this report, the swatter has not yet been identified.
