Taylor Swift's 'The Life Of A Showgirl' Features A Superstar Collaboration

We officially have a release date for The Life of a Showgirl!

On Wednesday (August 13), Taylor Swift unveiled the album cover for her forthcoming 12th studio album on Instagram and revealed that the 12-track record, produced by herself along with Max Martin and Shellback, will come out October 3. She has previously worked with Martin and Shellback on hits from her 1989 and Reputation albums, per Billboard.

The cover features Swift wearing a green bejeweled outfit surrounded by the album's title written in a glittering orange as she lays in a pool of water, an apparent reference to the character of Ophelia from William Shakespeare's Hamlet who drowns after being driven to madness. This is seemingly confirmed by the track listing, which includes a song titled "The Fate of Ophelia."

"And, baby, that's show business for you," she captioned the post. "New album The Life of a Showgirl. Out October 3 ❤️‍🔥"

The track listing also revealed a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter, who will appear on the album's title track. The "Espresso" singer previously joined Swift on select dates of her record-breaking Eras Tour. She reacted to the news with a series of excited Instagram Stories, writing, "i know someone who's freaking out and it's me."

Along with the album artwork, she shared gorgeous photos taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott that depict Swift in extravagant showgirl-style ensembles, including large feathered headpieces, barely-there jeweled outfits and more dramatic looks.

Swift first announced her new album while appearing on the August 13 episode of the New Heights podcast, hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce. Ever since, Swifties have been going back and noticing all of the easter eggs they may have missed leading up to her new era.
