What You Should Do With Your Smartphone

August 21, 2025

If you’re describe yourself as a “germaphobe”, then you may not want to hear about a new report this week from a tech expert.

He says your cell phone may be your worst enemy.

Since the start of the pandemic more than five years ago, most of us wash our hands more and wipe down grocery store carts or office desks and the like, but he says we don’t clean our phones much.

And we should.

In fact, according to this report, whenever phones are swabbed for germs and microorganisms, scientists usually find hundreds bacteria and viruses

Now while he says not all these germs and things can cause you to get sick, there is always that chance unless you keep your phone clean.

After all we use phones everywhere from meeting rooms to bathrooms.

This guy’s advice? At least a weekly wipedown…using 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipes. microfiber cloths and gentle brushes but he says to never spray directly on the phone due to risk of damage.

In other words, being smarter about keeping our smartphones clean is probably a wise thing to do.
