DEMOCRATS MAKE SURE THERE IS ABORTION MONEY In the budget as they wrangle unsuccessfully to bring their out of control spending into check. They have passed three bills so far. What did they do?

- Allow state Medicaid to cover Planned Parenthood services after a federal cut.

- Transfer overflow funds from a school meals program to food stamps, with voter approval.

- And require the governor to consult with the legislature before making any spending cuts.

Gotta make sure the baby part sellers can keep doing what they do, amiright? This Legislature is so clueless they've been working to RAISE TAXES on restaurants and retail, two of the most challenging segments of our economy right now. How have they cut spending? Not one cent. Oh, and NOW they are worried that repealing a really bad AI bill could have "unintended consequences"? They didn't think about that AT ALL when they passed the dang thing. What are these people doing??? Here is more on what has transpired but if you're looking for spending cuts there are NONE. NONE. They are moving money around, but NO CUTS. And they are moving money from the Healthy Meals for All program, which has run in the red as it provides "free" lunch to all students even if they don't need it, to the SNAP program to cover food stamps. I'm not even sure how you "use" money that isn't there to fund another program but this is Democrat logic. Democrats even CHANGED the makeup of the Senate Appropriations committee when they didn't like it. Read this:

The bill won a party-line 5-2 vote from a changed Senate Appropriations Committee. Senate Majority Leader Robert Rodriguez changed the committee's makeup Saturday in preparation for a possible vote on his artificial intelligence bill, taking away one Republican, Sen. Larry Liston of Colorado Springs, removing the committee's vice-chair, Joint Budget Committee Chair Jeff Bridges of Greenwood Village, and adding two Democrats, Sens. Mike Weissman of and Katie Wallace of Longmont.

BUC-EES VERSUS THE BILLIONAIRE That title may look like a really bad Lifetime movie title, but that is what's happening in Palmer Lake, as billionaire John Malone tries to gin up opposition to the proposed Buc-ees off I-25. He's trying to preserve a wildlife corridor that has been around for some time. He's not the only one looking to stop the massive gas and brisket station, there are multiple groups lining up to fight both for and mostly against. You can read more here, but surely there is another space down there (Larkspur I'm looking at you) where they can build if there is this much opposition?

DOUGCO VOTERS, GIVE THESE FOLKS A LOOK FOR SCHOOL BOARD I don't know if you saw that Douglas County schools now have the highest CMAS test scores in the Denver Metro. That's in part because the district has moved away from politics in the classroom to focus on educating children. I know, crazy right? It's working and I want school board members who share that same commitment, which is why I'm looking at this slate of candidates for school board. I'll be getting them on the show in October.

THE ENGLISH LEARN TO LOVE THEIR FLAG AGAIN I've been told by foreigners multiple times they find our "obsession" with the flag (you know, flying it, wearing it, etc) is odd to them because they don't have the same allegiance to their own. Now Brits are beginning to wave and wear the Union Jack with enthusiasm again. Why? Because the underpinnings of their society are under attack by the same forces that are attacking our underpinnings here. This is long but worth a read.

LYING ADAM SCHIFF TRIES TO LIE HIS WAY OUT OF MORTGAGE FRAUD And he appeared on NBC with Kristin Welker. Listen to him deny that he lied on a mortgage application.

It's super rich that he is trying to say that Trump is using the government to go after political opponents considering we know he lied over and over again as Democrats used government to try and get Trump. There is a woman in California running for Congress who has been digging up the dirt on Schiff for years. She pointed out he's lying. And she's got literal receipts.

The issue is that he is claiming that BOTH his homes are his primary residence. Only you can't do that and it's only done to get more favorable mortgage rates. But let's not just take Ms. Bish's word for it, here he is telling EVERYONE what his primary residence is:

Now he will have to face accusations that he falsified loan documents to get better loan terms. Couldn't happen to nicer guy. As for his assertion that "mortgage fraud" is what the Republicans are using to go after their opponents, if they didn't do it, it wouldn't be an issue, would it.

OLD DAMES SOFTBALL IS WRAPPING UP THE SUMMER I love this so much. There is a softball team that features women between the ages of 55 to 91! They just won a bronze medal at the Senior Games! They are having their final event of the summer tomorrow, find out about it here.

THE WNBA HAD A RECORD BREAKING ATTENDANCE YEAR! And good for them for getting 2.5 MILLION butts in the seats! This should give more credit to their demands they be paid like NBA players, amiright! Except the NBA drew over 22.5 MILLION fans to their games. The WNBA has a long way to go and their players need to understand more clearly why they don't get NBA money and this should help with perspective. I am not anti-WNBA but they need to understand they are a nascent sport and that's why they are paid like it.

IS IT REALLY CLIMATE CHANGE IF THE CLIMATE ISN'T CHANGING THAT MUCH? This is a Very Important Story if you ask me. The Guardian, a well known left-wing paper in the UK, has come out an admitted something that should be earthshaking: the climate is not changing even as CO2 emissions keep rising. Read this:

The melting of sea ice in the Arctic has slowed dramatically in the past 20 years, scientists have reported, with no statistically significant decline in its extent since 2005. The finding is surprising, the researchers say, given that carbon emissions from fossil fuel burning have continued to rise and trap ever more heat over that time. They said natural variations in ocean currents that limit ice melting had probably balanced out the continuing rise in global temperatures. However, they said this was only a temporary reprieve and melting was highly likely to start again at about double the long-term rate at some point in the next five to 10 years.

But OF COURSE the melting will start again in a decade, when this article will be long forgotten. Remember when Al Gore said the Arctic would ice free by 2013 but then it wasn't? Or when Michael Mann produced the hockey stick graph that showed temperatures would skyrocket but then they didn't? The article goes on to quote climate scientists who put all sorts of data into their models, which all conveniently showed disaster looming in the near and long term. Except models aren't evidence and they have been not just wrong, but spectacularly wrong for decades now.
