Eminem Finally Releases Long-Lost Song On New 'Stans' Soundtrack

Eminem's latest song, which appears on the Stans soundtrack, might not sound so new to loyal fans.
On Tuesday, August 26, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee released the soundtrack for his new documentary, Stans. The project comes with 12 tracks that pop up in the documentary, including a previously unreleased Dr. Dre-produced track called "Everybody's Looking At Me." While it may seem new to unsuspecting fans, the OG stans will remember first hearing the track in the background at the beginning of "The Kiss (skit)" from Em's 2002 album The Eminem Show.

The lore behind "Everybody's Looking At Me" stems back to a freestyle Eminem and Proof recorded in 2002. Em's first verse from that freestyle appears at the beginning of the new song, followed by a chorus in which the Detroit native samples Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me." Proof doesn't appear on the latest version of the song, and neither does former Aftermath Records artist Truth Hurts. The R&B singer told MTV in 2002 that she recorded vocals for the track.
Eminem released his Stans documentary earlier this month. The film focuses on the "Stan" rapper's relationship with fame and his loyal fanbase. The film debuted at the SXSW London Screen Festival in June before it premiered in theaters in the U.S. for one weekend only. Eminem himself surprised fans at the official premiere in New York City on August 7 and personally thanked his Stans for making the film and his career possible.
