Thomas Rhett's Wife Lauren Akins Is Pregnant With Baby No. 5

Thomas Rhett’s wife, Lauren Akins, is pregnant with Baby No. 5.

Rhett and Akins announced on Tuesday morning (August 26) that the family has another baby on the way. The country star and his wife adopted daughter Willa Gray (9) nearly a decade ago, and she's since become a big sister to Ada James (7), Lennon Love (5) and Lillie Carolina (3).

“Are you ready, honey?” Akins asked in a close-up shot in the beginning of the video she and Rhett shared on Tuesday morning. When they agreed they were both ready, Rhett began playing a rendition of “Life Changes,” a single that appeared on his third studio album in 2017. Akins joined her husband and stepped further away from the camera, revealing her growing baby bump. Rhett updated the lyrics of his 2017 hit:

“Well, I was wrapping my head around being a dad/ A big wrench got thrown in the plans we thought we had/ Now Lauren’s showing, got one on the way/ That’s five under 10, hey, what can I say?/ Yeah, life changes/ You wake up, ain’t nothin’ the same and life changes”

Akins smiled and held up the sonogram images as her husband sang. Rhett wrote in his caption on Instagram as he and his wife shared a musical pregnancy announcement: “Here we go again! We’ve got some really excited big sisters in our house. God is so good.”
