Retired former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce congratulated his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and his future sister-in-law, pop superstar Taylor Swift, on their engagement ahead of the latest episode of his and Travis' New Heights podcast premiering on Wednesday (August 27).

Jason explained that he and Travis record on Mondays, the tight end's one day off, so he would, instead, address the "one gigantic piece of new news that just hit the waves" himself.

"We felt necessary as a team here at New Heights to get together and "send Travis and Taylor a giant congratulations for being engaged!" Kelce said before shouting in celebration with the show's producers Brandon Borders and Jake Chatzky on a virtual call.

Swift announced her engagement in a joint Instagram post with Travis featuring several photos of the proposal.

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," she wrote in the caption of the post, which had more than 28.7 million likes in less than 24 hours.

The engagement reportedly took place two weeks prior at a garden at Kelce's home in Lee's Summit, Missouri, his father, Ed, told ABC News 5. Jason Kelce also thanked Taylor for her appearance on the show, which officially earned the world record for 'most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube' after the livestreamed episode got 1.3 million total concurrent views on August 13, according to GuinnessWorldRecords.com.

"Thanks to the one and only Taylor Swift for hopping on and deciding to talk with two complete idiots that don't know anything about the music industry," he said in the episode tease Wednesday morning. "And it was a doozy! So, get ready for a much lower bar this week."
