Paris Hilton has always been a trendsetter, even when she wasn't trying to be.
In a new interview with Us Weekly, the I Am Paris podcast host recalled accidentally starting a new beauty trend after she got a bad haircut from a Hollywood stylist in the early 2000s. The chop was so upsetting, losing her signature long blonde locks to a super short style, that it even left her in tears.
"I was not paying attention, just like on my phone and then I looked up and I had like long hair all the way down to my waist at this point, and I looked up and he had cut my hair all the way to my ears," she said, adding, "I was so in shock and I looked in the mirror and I didn't know what to say. He's like, 'Do you like it?' And I went to the bathroom and called my sister crying."
However, the style soon caught on as many fans followed in her footsteps — this time intentionally — to get a bob similar to the Simple Life star, who had to make some adjustments to the initial chop in order to be happy with it.
"I got extensions to make it like a cute bob, and I liked it, but that was, yeah, that was not done purposely," she said. "Then it became a trend, and everyone started cutting their hair. So I was like, OK.'"
Hilton recently opened up about the "most rewarding" thing she has ever done and how it has been the most "meaningful experience of [her] life."
