Class is back in session, and we know you're already looking for the perfect songs to play on the way to school.
Students everywhere are heading back to their respective campuses to hit the books once again for another academic year. Soulja Boy has been celebrating the beginning of classes since he dropped his 2010 banger "First Day of School," which is the intro for his third album The DeAndre Way.
"I be so fly, I can't help myself," Big Draco raps. "Yeah, freshest in the class, freshest in the school/And I bet I dress every day like it's first day of school."
Over the years, there have been a few rap artists who've made anthems that high school and college kids can bump during the first week of classes. Some former teens might remember J. Cole's epic track "School Daze" from his classic project, The Come Up. The 2007 mixtape was finally released on streaming services last year as part of his "Inevitable" podcast series. On the track, Cole revisits his early childhood and all the wild memories from his time in high school.
"Ain't even open my book and it's time to change classes," Cole spits. "Walk straight past my ex and don't speak/It's all good, I'll probably have a new ex by next week/I just think the s**t we did was silly, yo, I know that/But what I wouldn't give to go back."
The school year is just getting started. Whether you're at a new school, getting ready to graduate or reminiscing about the good ole days, we've got a few songs that'll put you back into learning mode. Scroll below to hear some major rap tunes as you head back to school.
