My Weekend: Crocodile Rockin, Peach Pickin, Sunrise Shootin, And Drinkin!
September 2, 2025
Ok - so I only had 1 beer, but that DOES qualify as drinkin', doesn't it?
Valerie and I dropped in to SOME Brewing Co (Southern Maine Brewing Co) in York to have a beer and chill outside on their patio! I had a "Hellas" - a lager (I think), and I smoked Valerie in a few games of Rummy. Haha- friggin card shark over here!
The weekend started off, though- at the Casino Ballroom with the FACE TO FACE - Billy Joel/Elton John Tribute-
And see this? This is the STANDING OVATION they got when the 2.5 hr show was over! I'll say this- I've seen some good tribute bands- but this show was incredible! And the guy who did the Elton John stuff was absolutely amazing! He played "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lives Bleeding" - and it took the roof off the place! IF you get a chance to see this show- DON'T MISS IT. If you like the music of Elton and Billy - I highly recommend it.
Saturday morning - hit the farm to grab some peaches-
Had so sample as I went, of course- and they are phenomenal right now!
Aww- me and Valerie, in a peach tree! How cute!
When we got home - the task at hand was ripping out a pretty big bush in the backyard. Thing was growing into the fence and causing issues to it had to go. But once I started- holy shit- the roots were thick, wicked deep, and there was a million of em! I used everything- a spade, an axe, a saw, a sawzall- and finally - I brought out the big stuff -
Check out this video - made with help from one of the cameras in the back yard -
Doesn't look that big- but it went out in every direction! Man that thing was a beast-
And before I forget- special shout out to Carolee and Brian - we all met them at Northwoods Brewing Co last week while we were canning the beer, and they were really cool! Here's a shot of us at the bar!
Always love meeting nice folks!
On Saturday and Sunday I went out both mornings to shoot (with the camera). Got some really nice sunrise shots in Wells ME -
And walked around the trails at the Wells Nature Reserve at Laudholm. That place is BEAUTIFUL - especially early in the morning!
Lots of nice, and pretty easy trails - including a cool boardwalk through the forest along an ocean inlet. If you haven't been. Go.
And you're welcome. You'll thank me later. Its a beautiful place.
Hope y'all had a good weekend too -
