9/2/25 Blog: A Run To Support Pups, And Lawyers Get Strong Armed By CO

September 2, 2025

WANT TO SUPPORT LAW ENFORCEMENT DOGS? This weekend is the Annual Rex Run for Pawsitivity in Arapahoe County and it's a super event that raises money for all manner of stuff to support the hard working dogs of law enforcement. I do this just so I get to see a dog in the studio when Deputy John Gray from Arapahoe County will bring in Rex to say hello. Find out more about him and other therapy dogs at the race this weekend by clicking here.

ATTORNEYS ARE THREATENED BY A DISCLAIMER And for a state whose Governor keeps saying we're NOT a sanctuary state we keep doing stuff that makes us look like a sanctuary state. The latest bid by Democrat to protect criminal aliens comes in the form of a disclosure attorneys trying to file documents are forced to sign in the affirmative before they can do the work they are trying to do. What does the disclaimer say? Jimmy Sengenberger writes about it here. He posted it on X last week. https://www.gjsentinel.com/news/lawsuit-dismissed-against-former-mesa-county-deputy-who-aided-ice/article_b42f59a5-d9fb-4234-95c2-f77196d41c5a.html

An remarkably, the tweet went viral and soon after the disclaimer WAS REMOVED. The statute they said they were complying with didn't mention perjury or attorneys AT ALL, but was another measure to make sure that ICE had a harder time finding and arresting criminal aliens. It's amazing to me that the Legislature has done so much to provide special treatment to illegal aliens just to show the Trump administration. They surely care more about illegal immigrants than they do the taxpayer as evidenced by the recent special session. It remains to be seen if this sort of disclaimer comes back, or if attorneys may be investigated (as Phil Weiser sued cops in Mesa County until last week) for helping ICE. I hope the feds crush Colorado on this issue. They are threatening people's livelihoods if they don't obstruct ICE and the only hope to stop this is the Trump administration.

DID YOU SEE FLORIDA STATE BEAT ALABAMA And yes, I know CU and CSU played games which didn't go the way fans wanted but FSU BEAT ALABAMA and they beat the brakes off of them to quote Dave Logan. You can read all about the college football weekend here. Some are even saying FSU will be in the College Football Playoffs. Here's hoping.

CALDARA ON FASHION And I know he's not Anna Wintour but he's got opinions on the idiotic fashion flap at the Capitol and in retelling it, he reminds us of all the creepy things Democrats have done with impunity while Ryan Armagost is hauled before the chamber. It's your typical "hey what aboutism" column but that doesn't mean it's wrong. Her outfit was not appropriate for the chamber and the Republicans petty comments weren't either. Nuff said.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL PARK DOOM AND GLOOM Remember when budget cuts were going to mean nightmare scenarios at the National Parks? Yesterday I saw this on X:

He was confused because the Reddit moderator had removed his post for "lying about staffing/funding at national parks" but we all know it's because he didn't toe the gloom and doom narrative. Now we have this story from the Denver Gazette about conditions at parks and it seems to reinforce what this guy says. I hate it when professionals have to do with less for reasons beyond their control but still manage to do a great job, don't you? I'm being sarcastic. Hats off to the Park workers who have kept things running this year anyway.

IF THEY WERE TRYING TO PROVE POLE DANCING ISN'T SEXY At the State Fair I think this may have done it.

I'm just going to say it, we don't need to platform every hobby at the State Fair. Hotness aside, I am not interested in exposing children to skills they might need to work in a hypersexualized job like stripping. And there is literally NO OTHER job that requires this "skill". This was a dumb choice that was made by someone who needs at a minimum a stern talking to. This is just unnecessary and ridiculous. This is not what the State Fair is supposed to be. The group who put on the show is defending it as "a legitimate sport and art form—recognized worldwide—with strength, flexibility, musicality, and storytelling at its core." Mmkay, what story was told? I'm being serious.

ON DEMOCRATS HATING BUSINESS IN COLORADO Mark Hillman writes a great column on how the Democrats have changed from business friendly to openly hostile, viewing business as a necessary evil to be taxed and regulated to death. From the column:

Democrats with meaningful business background are an endangered species at today’s state Capitol. The current legislative majority seems to view the relationship between government and business like that of a parasite and a host. Ruling “progressives” rarely hesitate to add more burdens — regulation, litigation or taxation — to the litany of hazards confronting anyone doing business here.
Business, it seems, is a necessary evil tolerated only to fund government.

This is why our business climate rating has plummeted in the past five years. And dumbass Democrat policies and government inefficiencies have hit restaurants the hardest. I saw this on X this past weekend:

Troy Guard has been a star in Denver dining and he's since moved to Texas. Read the rest of the article this came from here. Read this part:

Denise Mickelsen of the Colorado Restaurant Association (C.R.A.) said most operators are just trying to survive 2025. Though restaurants across the U.S. face similar challenges, she believes Colorado is the hardest place to operate one.
C.R.A. and USA Today reported that Colorado had the highest menu-price inflation in the country in 2023. One operator told her costs are up 39 percent since last year, while menu prices only rose 15 percent. Customers are falling away.
“She’s in the red,” Ms. Mickelsen said. “She has lost so much money in the last three years, she doesn’t know if they're going to make it through Christmas.”
Last month, Cap City Tavern, a Denver staple that Mayor Mike Johnston eulogized in his July State of the City address, closed. A note on its Instagram reads:
“The increase in minimum wage, cost of food, and the taxes and fees that the city of Denver is imposing on restaurants has become too much to bear. Sadly, we are not alone, as the community of independently owned restaurants in Denver is literally going extinct.”

The higher minimum wage doesn't matter to people who can't find jobs.

THIS AS MCDONALDS LOWERS PRICES If you go into a new McDonalds there is no counter to put in an order. You will be greeted by a kiosk where you put your own order in. Maybe that's why they can lower prices in the hopes of bringing back the consumer who choked on a nine dollar Big Mac. Read it here. This could spread to other fast food joints.

LIGHT RAIL CLOSURES START DOWNTOWN TODAY And as I and a vast majority of my listeners don't care I'm just putting this here for the few who may be affected.

YOU NEED A PRESCRIPTION FOR COVID VACCINES At CVS and Walgreens and I'm still not sure why this is the case in certain states. You can read it here.

DPS IS GOING TO THE MAT ON ALL GENDER BATHROOMS I can't wait to see how this turns out.

WHEN DO YOU NEED TO BUY PLANE TICKETS FOR THE HOLIDAY? You best do that in the next month to hit the sweet spot of prices. You probably won't get any great deals so maybe set a Google alert today on Google Flights to find the best pricing.

WHY COLORADO NEEDS NUCLEAR this is a great column about how nuclear is the only way Colorado is going to hit it's green goals. The only thing missing here is how much this is all going to cost us. The thing I like is that this is being written by a college student. They don't have the same hangups about nuclear we olds do.

CHINA HAS A FANCY NEW LASER DEFENCE SYSTEM And they are getting ready to show it off during a military parade for Putin and Jong Un. It is allegedly able to pick a bunch of drones out of the sky to be used for defense, and as Chinese drone technology is super sick, I'm guessing this might be super sick too. We should not underestimate Chinese technology, they have created some super cool stuff lately. Have you seen this 10,000 AI guided drones light show?

Now attach bombs to these. How do we defend against this? Oh, and China controls 90% of OUR drone market. So I'm guessing that every time that realtor sends a drone up to get sick shots of the homes they are selling we're sending that data back to the Chinese. I'm sure this will be fine.

HOW WRONG WAS AL GORE? Like super duper extra wrong if you're talking about his stupid movie An Inconvenient Truth, which turned out to be not the truth at all. This story reminds us of all the ways Gore was totally, absolutely wrong in his grift movie. Since he made this myth factory of a movie his wealth has gone from $2 million to about $300 million. I guess we know why he made the movie.

DID TRUMP JUST TURN ON BIG PHARMA? I saw the post President Trump sent out this past weekend that seemed in my view to be challenging Pfizer on what information they showed HIM when he was President and what they did NOT show anyone about the vaccines. Here is that post:

My pal David Strom writes about this here, and does so well. What does this mean for Pfizer? I hope a lot, because I idiotically trusted that they would release COMPLETE information about the vaccines I went on to recommend (but now will not get or recommend) and it would be nice to hold them accountable. I'm talking to David about this at 1pm.

ELITCH'S WANTS SCARY PEOPLE As they are hiring for their annual Fright Fest. Find out more here.

DEMOCRATS ARE FOR SEPARATING KIDS FROM PARENTS NOW And leave it to Scott Jennings to point that out.

GOLD IS FLYING OFF THE SHELVES and prices hit a record high as governments around the world are buying it up. Read more here.

AMAZON TRIES TO CUT THE FAT And get back to the lean machine they were known as in the early days under former CEO and now billionaire Jeff Bezos. This is an interesting article and if you work in corporate America you would do well to pay attention because if it works at Amazon (and it's working) it's going to be duplicated elsewhere.

A HORROR MOVIE ABOUT JESUS? Is this a thing we need? Why is this okay? Watch below or click here.

What the heck? Read more about it here, but I'm guessing this wouldn't be made about Mohammed. Just saying.

DEION SANDERS SOLD THE RIGHTS TO HIS ON FIELD CAN You kind of have to admire this.

GRETA HAS BROKEN UP WITH CLIMATE CHANGE FOR THE PALESTINIANS And she got all lecture-y again before she and a bunch of other idiots got on a boat to sail to Israel.

They dramatically set sail after the press conference and then this happened.

Seems kind of biblical but who am I to judge?

ANOTHER WAY DATING SUCKS And this one is called "shrekking". You just have to read it.

THIS MADE ME VISCERALLY ANGRY At how stupid some men can be. A fantasy football league had to come up with some sort of "punishment" for the loser and this is what they came up with.

As if creating a human life is some sort of punchline. I hate everyone involved here.

WE ARE HAVING A FERTILITY CRISIS And it's no joke, watch below or click here.

@lisaremillard

#fertility #costofliving #parenting The fertility rate is plummeting around the world and in the US we just saw the lowest fertility rate in history. It’s being called a fertility crisis. The United Nations says the reason why people are not having kids is simple… MONEY. This video explains the numbers and what the UN suggests so things can turn around.

WE ARE SHUNNING GUILT TIPPING And I have to tell you, once you press NO TIP a few times it gets easier and easier. Watch below or click here.

@cbsmornings

New research shows that Americans aren't giving in to "guilt tipping" as much as they used to. A recent survey estimates that the average person now spends $283 on pressure-driven tips a year, down from $453 in 2024.

RIP WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT MARK KNOLLER And this one stings. I've interview Mark so many times in the years I've had my show. I will say the last time (years ago) that I had him on he sounded terrible. He was in ill health and had diabetes so I'm guessing that caught up to him. He was a great reporter. I never knew what his politics were and he covered the White House with his Vacation Counter like no one else and he was a genuinely nice man. I'm sad to see him go.

YOU NEED TO BE BORED And here is why.
