YoungBoy Never Broke Again is doing his part to give back to the community before he embarks on his first headlining tour in years.

Before his first show in Dallas on Monday, September 1, YoungBoy told FOX 4 why he donated $50,000 to two charity groups focused on reducing violent crime in the area. Manifest Freedom, a non-profit organization, invests in entrepreneurs who've been impacted by the criminal legal system. The other organization is Urban Specialists, which teams up with neighborhoods to help reduce gang violence. YB intends to "help try to stop the crime" by any means necessary.

"You know, a lot of people be getting hurt, so it ain’t really cool at this point to me," YoungBoy said. "I just want to help in any way I could [sic]."

The 25-year-old artist donated the funds a day before he hit the stage in Dallas for the first night of his "Make American Slime Again Tour." YB kicked off the 27-city tour with opening acts DeeBaby, EBK Jaaybo and K3. It's the rapper's first headlining tour since he was freed from prison on supervised release earlier this year.

YB, born Kentrell Gaulden, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm last September, which put an end to the legal drama that had cast a shadow over his career since 2020. He was sentenced to 23 months in prison with five years of supervised release and had to pay a fine of $200,000. He was originally supposed to be released in July, but his legal team worked out a deal and secured his release back in March. Following his release, he was granted a full pardon by President Donald Trump.

"I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building—as a man, as a father and as an artist," he said in a statement. "The moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I've worked hard for and I'm fully prepared to step into this."

NBA YoungBoy's "MASA Tour" is happening now with stops in California, Colorado, Arizona, Florida, and New York before his finale at his hometown of New Orleans.
