A red minivan drove through a barricaded area at the Kipona Festival in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on Monday (September 1), injuring three people. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. as the three-day festival was concluding. According to Harrisburg Bureau of Police Captain Atah Akakpo-Martin, the driver, Elizabeth Bohrer, was apprehended a few blocks away.

She remains in custody, pending charges.

The injured include a six-year-old boy in critical condition, a woman in a wheelchair who is stable, and a city worker with bruising and sprains. Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams expressed her condolences, stating, "This was a tragic ending to a beautiful three-day event." She emphasized that the driver did not appear to have intentionally targeted the crowd but remains in custody as the investigation continues.

The minivan sustained significant damage, and debris was scattered across the area. Police have cordoned off the site with crime tape as they continue their investigation. Mayor Williams assured the public that Harrisburg will not tolerate such reckless behavior and pledged to enhance safety measures for future events.
