Billy Ray Cyrus Teaches Elizabeth Hurley Guitar, She Says 'I'm Appalling'

Elizabeth Hurley said she’s “appalling, but I'm hoping to improve,” as her boyfriend, country artist Billy Ray Cyrus, teaches her to play the guitar.

Hurley, 60, recently caught up with HELLO! in a special issue that swaps its well-known logo for BYE!, the publication noted this week. The actress, starring in a new show titled The Inheritance, spoke about her relationship with Cyrus during the interview: “I've been in England all summer for the first time ever and have loved every moment. Billy is teaching me to play the guitar; right now I'm appalling, but I'm hoping to improve!” Hurley also said it’s been “a good year,” since she “met and fell in love with my boyfriend,” (in addition to working as the Global Ambassador for the Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign, which has helped raise more than $1 billion for breast cancer research).

Hurley recently shared a photo on Instagram with a guitar, and said her “patient boyfriend is attempting to teach me” to play it. Cyrus, 64, wrote in the comments that “my girl is getting good on that guitar,” and Hurley replied that the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer is “hysterical,” and “nobody but you is ever going to hear my pitiful twangs.”

Cyrus and Hurley met while filming Christmas in Paradise together in 2022. They reconnected when Cyrus was going through his divorce from FIREROSE, 37, and publicly confirmed their romance when they posted a flirty photo with one another on Easter. Hurley’s son, Damian Hurley, 23, has often commented on his mother’s Instagram posts. Hurley welcomed her son with late businessman and film producer Steve Bing. She was previously married to Arun Nayar, 60, from 2007 to 2011. 

Cyrus and ex-wife Tish Cyrus, 58, split up in 2022 after nearly three decades of marriage. They share Brandi Cyrus, 38, and Trace Cyrus, 36 (the country star adopted both kids when he married their mother in the 90s), Braison Cyrus, 31, Miley Cyrus, 32, and Noah Cyrus, 25. Cyrus is also a father to son Christopher Cody Cyrus, 33, from a previous relationship.
