Channing Tatum is getting candid about his divorce from Jenna Dewan.

In a new interview with Variety, the Magic Mike star made a rare comment about his "painful" split from Dewan. They former couple were married for nine years, welcoming daughter Everly, now 12, in that time, before Dewan filed for divorce in 2018. The lengthy process was finalized last year.

"Jenna and I are good now, but it was a painful break to have that fall apart, especially being so young," he said, adding, "We tried to keep it together, tried for a year and a half, but we knew it was... Not to go into all that."

Tatum also shared how the joint custody arrangement surrounding their daughter following their divorce has been difficult to come to terms with, per Page Six.

"It's in the past. But it's really tough not to have your daughter half the time," he said. "I wish I could just have her all the time."

Since their split, they have both moved on to new romances. Tatum was previously engaged to his Blink Twice director Zoë Kravitz, though they called off their relationship in late 2024 after three years of dating. He has since been linked to Inka Williams, with the 25-year-old model confirming their romance in April with a sweet birthday tribute. Dewan has also found love with fiancé Steve Kazee, whom she has been linked to since 2022. They share two children: son Callum, 5, and daughter Rhiannon, 1.
