The Reds (70-70) led 5-0 after pouncing on Shane Bieber for five runs in the 2nd inning.
That lead was gone by the 5th, as the Jays pulverized Zack Littell for four homers.
For just the fourth time in franchise history, the Reds have lost consecutive games in which they scored nine or more runs.
(Per Reds TV: 2025, 1970 and twice in 1894).
Toronto socked five long balls for the game and 11 for the series.
The Jays plated runs in seven consecutive innings (2nd-9th). They scored 25 runs on 30 hits over the final two games.
Meanwhile, the Mets lost to the Tigers 6-2, so the Reds remain five games out of the third Wild Card with 22 games remaining.
The Reds have dropped 10 of their last 13 games and four consecutive series.
Trailing 8-6, the Reds brought the go-ahead run to the plate in the 7th. But Elly struck out to end the inning. The Jays then scored four runs in the 8th.
Trailing 12-6 in the 8th, the Reds scored three times and had the tying run on deck. But Friedl struck out to end the inning.
