Being a Winner Even If You Don’t Win the Lottery

September 4, 2025

With the jackpot drawing on Saturday now going to be at least 1.7 billion dollars, will even more people buy by a lottery ticket? The larger the jackpot, it seems the larger the interest in the lottery.

There are some people who buy lottery tickets every week, and some buy one or more for every drawing, and there are some who never buy a lottery ticket.

But when a jackpot amount nears 2-billion dollars, it draws more news coverage and probably helps convince even “never lottery” buyers to maybe buy one.

You’ve heard many of our listeners this week say what they would do with all the money if they ever won all that money. With the individual odds of being nearly 300-million to one of winning, we all know how slim the chances are.

But people still play and still hope.

The encouraging news this week has been what many of our listeners have said, with almost all of them saying if they did ever win a huge jackpot, they would use it first, before anything, to help others, from family to friends to charities.

We all know the love of money can be a sin, but the love of neighbor is something to be rewarded.
