9/5/25 Blog: Crime Jumps In Colorado, And We've Got Parole Issues

HOLY SMOKES, THIS CRIME STAT IS ALARMING yesterday on X I saw this post by Mike O' Donnell:

Mike joins me at 12:30 to chat about this but if this isn't a campaign talking point for Republicans I don't know what is. I'd love to see the number JUST from 2019 and today when Democrats took over completely so we can give the proper credit.

MORE SHENANIGANS FROM OUR PAROLE SYSTEM I'm not saying the above numbers and the below numbers are connected, but it would not be a crazy thing to do. 9News' Chris Vanderveen has been working on this story and stories about the parole system for a while now and I don't think he's going to stop because he keeps finding out stuff like this. You've got to click on this whole thread to see the history of criminals that have been released from prison on parole after serious changes were made to the file used to make those decisions.

You should also read his story from last month here. He says in the thread that the Governor doesn't seem to think this is a problem, or at least hasn't shown any interest in finding out why dangerous men are having scores that are not supposed to change completely changed to make them eligible for parole. I think this should be the subject of a serious criminal investigation myself. We'll talk to Chris about this ongoing story at 1.

THREE IMPORTANT PETITION DRIVES ARE TAKING OFF TODAY And there is a pop up petition event today at  St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, located at 8035 S Quebec St., Centennial, CO from 5 to 8pm where you can pick up petitions to get them signed. What are we gathering signatures for? The initiatives are  #108, #109, #110 and they concern increasing child human trafficking penalties, keeping boys out of girls sports, and forbidding child gender affirming medical treatments. I've got someone from Protect Kids Colorado on at 2:30 today to talk about it.

THE SPIT SEEN ROUND THE WORLD Last night's Eagles-Cowboys game was really good but it started off on a very bad foot. Before the first snap of the ball, Eagles star defensive tackle Jalen Carter got booted for spitting at Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. But SpitGate is now upon us as new video of the dust up before the spit shows Dak Prescott SPIT FIRST. Watch this:

Now Jalen Carter did spit ON Prescott whereas Prescott just spit in the general direction of Carter and I say that was very purposeful. It seems to me that Prescott successfully bated the Eagle best defensive player into getting kicked out of the game. I think it's clear there was a second spitter. I thought of this joke but someone beat me to it on twitter.

There is clearly a Han Solo joke in here as well, just saying.

A DOCTOR CUTS OFF HEALTH BODY PARTS AND PEOPLE ARE MAD But how is this doctor who had his legs cut off because of his obsession with amputation porn any different than people who cut off health body parts to try to become another sex? I'm asking a real question here. Granted he committed insurance fraud, but why are people judging him. Inside, he KNEW he was supposed to be a man with no legs. We should have affirmed his choice without question! Who are we to judge??? I mean, read this:

DO BLACK LIVES REALLY MATTER IN DEMOCRAT CITIES? This is a REALLY good editorial about Trump's efforts to bring National Guard troops to dangerous cities, most of which happen to be run by Democrats. Read this:

Despite a 45.9% Black population, nearly all Washington murder victims are Black. Trump’s plans to extend federal assistance to cities such as Chicago, New York and New Orleans would prioritize Black lives.

In Illinois, Gov. J.B. Pritzker opposes federal crime aid, despite Chicago’s nearly two daily homicides over the past five years, with Black individuals (28.4% of the population) comprising 78.2% of victims. Federal initiatives targeting illegal immigration, gang violence, drug trafficking, and repeat offenders address root causes such as poverty and segregation, disproportionately benefiting Black communities.

In Colorado, Black residents (3.8% of the population) account for more 70% of homicide victims. In Denver (9% Black), Black individuals represent 38% of homicide victims; in Colorado Springs (6.5% Black), 29%; and in Pueblo (2.4% Black), 10%.

This goes to the question I keep asking which is, how many dead people does leadership think is okay? What number does it take to make them go "we have a problem"? If they don't want help, do black lives really matter or was it always just a slogan?

SYDNEY SWEENEY AND CONTROVERSY ARE GOOD FOR SALES As American Eagle Outfitters announced a bunch of new customers bought a bunch of new stuff after the ad campaign starring the busty starlet created angry backlash from ugly and aggrieved people.

THIS NFL DOESN'T DO DIVERSITY HIRES So if i you are among the record 16 black quarterbacks playing in the NFL this year you deserve the job. There are not diversity hires in the NFL. There are no quotas to be met, just an expectation that if you play at the highest level you will play at the highest level. Just saying.

JIMMY SENGENBERGER WEIGHS IN ON SPACE COMMAND And he does a good job of laying out the reasons for moving it to Huntsville, while also pointing out the President made it unnecessarily political by bringing up mail in ballots. Read it here, but I have a question. Why will it take the Military "years" to get moved and up and running? Companies move their headquarters from state to state and it doesn't take them "years" to get back up to speed? And seriously, we're not moving the entire space force, we're moving the BUREAUCRACY of Space Force. Why is the military so slow and intractable as to put the country at risk over a move? I'd like those answers please.

TRUMP MULLS BANNING TRANS PEOPLE FROM BUYING GUNS And I'm not sure he can do this. And if we're going to do this based on the number of mass shootings by trans identifying people lately why didn't we do this for young white men before? I get that there seems to be a serious mental illness crisis among some trans people but this seems clearly unconstitutional to me. A free society is a messy society unfortunately.

DENVER'S SCHOOL BOARD DOESN'T WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU As they now require you to be psychic to make a public comment. Now, you can only comment on things in the upcoming school board meeting's agenda, except the agenda isn't usually out before you can comment. Yep, it's that obvious. Read it here.

TRUMP AND UNCLE HERSHEL HAVE A MOMENT

OPERATION UNDERCOVER FAN IS UNDERWAY IN SEATTLE This feels a bit excessive, especially in Seattle where everyone is a soy boy with a man bun but here we are. I'm guessing this is going to make the fan experience for actual fans of the opposing teams less pleasant as everyone chants "NARC" at anyone wearing the wrong jersey.

MICHAEL BENNET CAME AT RFK JR AND IT DIDN'T GO AS WELL AS HE HOPED I'm sure. Tune in at about the 2:55 mark for the best part. Bennet seems to be arguing that parents will be less free when vaccine mandates are done away with. So allowing parents to make decisions about their own children is less free? Not a great argument.
