My Photos: The Blue Angels, and my video - "Whaddya Gonna Do?"

September 7, 2025

After work on Friday, I headed over to Pease National Guard Base in Newington to watch - what I was told- was a practice session of the US Navy BLUE ANGELS. I had no idea that what I would be watching for an actual show put on for a select group of folks. So - I got to watch the show from right along the fence of the flightline- and it felt like about the best seat in the house.

Before you look at the photos I took- here's something to think about: Many of these photos were shot at incredibly high shutter speeds ranging anywhere from 1/5000th of a second, to 1/28,000th of a second. It's the highest speeds I've ever shot at, and the highest speed of anything I've ever photographed- hahah.

Anyway- it was thrilling to see these planes fly mere feet away - and maybe even just inches away- from each other. Here's some of the shots I got -
