Tate McRae Kicks High-Energy VMAs Debut Into Overdrive With 'Sports Car'

Tate McRae hit the gas for her high-energy debut at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The 22-year-old singer amazed the crowd at the 2025 MTV VMAs on Sunday (September 7), showing off her killer dance moves and captivating star power in a steamy, memorable performance. Kicking off her time on stage with a brief rendition of "Revolving Door," McRae pranced along a catwalk lined with dancers on pedestals.
After a dance break where she struck pose after pose as the dancers lifted her in the air, she put her performance into overdrive with her hit "Sports Car." McRae kept the energy high throughout the exciting performance as she and her backup dancers kicked around a bed of sand as bursts of flames lit up the stage.
In addition to McRae, the 2025 MTV VMAs, hosted by LL Cool J, featured performances from some of the day's biggest artists, such as Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Alex Warren, Post Malone, Jelly Roll, Mariah Carey and more. Tate McRae will be taking over the stage at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Festival presented by Capital One on September 19 and 20 in Las Vegas. Fans can tune in to the music mega even all weekend as it will be broadcast live each night via iHeartMedia radio stations throughout the country across more than 150 markets. Hulu will be the Official Streaming Destination of the festival, with performances livestreamed each night exclusively to all Hulu subscribers.
