Young Thug Apologizes To Mariah The Scientist For Cheating On Her

Young Thug has formally apologized to his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist, after he was caught speaking to another woman while he was in jail last year.

Over the weekend, more audio of Thug's phone calls from jail hit the Internet. In one of the calls, the Atlanta rapper can be heard talking to a woman named Cleo. During their conversation, Thug spoke about seeing her after he's free and even asked when she wanted to have kids. In another audio clip, Thug admitted he cheated on Mariah just a day before he was arrested in May 2022.

The damning clips sparked widespread uproar on social media. Critics blasted Young Thug for shaming people like Gunna for being disloyal, yet had no problem being unfaithful to his longtime girlfriend even after she held him down while he was locked up. Soon after the audio went viral, Young Thug decided to own up to his mistakes and issued a heartfelt apology.

"My baby I was wrong and I’m sorry for what I put u through," he wrote on X. "U deserved better from me. Thank you for everything and I will do anything to make this work. U showed me what love is and I hope I haven’t lost u forever… everybody leave her out of this please she’s an innocent girl and feels bad about all of this. Please give her peace."

Soon afterward, Young Thug continued to address the situation with a few more posts. He wrote, "Chapter ended" with a heart emoji, which led some fans to believe that he and Mariah broke up. He also issued another apology to everyone who has been dragged into the massive breach of his privacy while he was in jail.

"To everyone involved in this situation I’m sorry this is happening and I hope u guys can forgive me, I’m moving forward with my life -THANK U GOD," he wrote.

It's unclear whether Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist have ended their relationship, but her reaction after he uploaded his posts suggests as much. She didn't address the situation directly; however, she did post some questionable lyrics to her song "Rainy Days" from her recent album Hearts Sold Separately.

"I put forth an open heart and I've been hurt/Looking back in retrospect, that ain't what I deserve," she sings on the song. "Want it back in blood and blood, I'm gonna get/And still I pray for love instead of common sense."

Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist have been dating since 2021. They remained a couple after Thug was arrested in connection with the YSL RICO case.
