9/9/25 Blog: Have They Not Heard Of God, Plus Climate Change Makes You Fat

DID THE DENVER GAZETTE KILL ITS OWN EDITORIAL? So the other day the Denver Gazette had an editorial that was FANTASTIC. It had the nerve to ask if Democrat cities fighting the Trump administration on crime really thought Black Lives actually mattered, as they were often the victims of violent crime. I wrote about it here:

DO BLACK LIVES REALLY MATTER IN DEMOCRAT CITIES? This is a REALLY good editorial about Trump's efforts to bring National Guard troops to dangerous cities, most of which happen to be run by Democrats. Read this:

Despite a 45.9% Black population, nearly all Washington murder victims are Black. Trump’s plans to extend federal assistance to cities such as Chicago, New York and New Orleans would prioritize Black lives.

In Illinois, Gov. J.B. Pritzker opposes federal crime aid, despite Chicago’s nearly two daily homicides over the past five years, with Black individuals (28.4% of the population) comprising 78.2% of victims. Federal initiatives targeting illegal immigration, gang violence, drug trafficking, and repeat offenders address root causes such as poverty and segregation, disproportionately benefiting Black communities.

In Colorado, Black residents (3.8% of the population) account for more 70% of homicide victims. In Denver (9% Black), Black individuals represent 38% of homicide victims; in Colorado Springs (6.5% Black), 29%; and in Pueblo (2.4% Black), 10%.

This goes to the question I keep asking which is, how many dead people does leadership think is okay? What number does it take to make them go "we have a problem"? If they don't want help, do black lives really matter or was it always just a slogan?

But then when I went to share it on the air Friday, it was gone. I thought maybe they had pulled it for Sunday or something, but no, it's just gone. I want to know why? Was the data wrong? That would be a good excuse to pull it and redo it. But it's gone. Anyone know? I tried to find any sort of phone number but could only find one for subscriptions so I posted at them on X. We'll see what they say.

SCIENTISTS DISCOVER GOD, BUT CALLS IT ALIENS I laughed so hard at this story yesterday. So this guy is now saying that life is too complex to be as random as is needed to believe in the theory of us all being created out of primordial goo. (He's right). But instead of considering that it may have been GOD that created the Earth, as billions of religious people believe, he goes with "it was aliens". I'm not one of those who says the Earth was created 5,000 years ago, but I am one of those who looks at the perfect way species work together with highly specific specializations and say, "it was God". We'll laugh about this together today.

CLIMATE CHANGE IS MAKING US FAT This is another laugher and something anyone from the South knows: when it's hot, we eat ice cream. When it's hot, we grab more beverages and in the US, they usually contain sugar. And those things are making us fat. Well duh. The funny part is we are going to have to change the climate so we don't get fatter is now the mantra. MMkay.

ANOTHER DANGEROUS MENTALLY ILL PERSON IS RELEASED ONTO OUR STREETS And hats off to Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams for sounding the alarm about the man who was facing charges for 2nd degree murder and assault who just walked out the jail door because he was determined to be mentally unfit to stand trial. This must stop. Today.

IT TASTES LIKE HATE AND GUNPOWDER Or at least I'm guessing that's what a Palestinian beer tastes like. Weird they have a beer when Muslims are forbidden from drinking alcohol.

TUCKER CARLSON HAS FULLY JUMPED THE SHARK Because he has now said that Hamas isn't a jihadi organization. I'm so done with him.

DON'T FALL FOR THE COLORADO DEMS IDIOCY When they tweet out stuff like this in perfect George Orwell fashion:

It's almost like they haven't had total control of the state since 2019. Oh wait, they have.

COULD DENVER DO AN ABOUT FACE ON SUPPORTING A NEW WOMEN'S SOCCER STADIUM? The Denver City Council member who represents the district where the new women's soccer stadium is scheduled to be built is having second thoughts on committing $70 million of taxpayer dollars to the project. Why? Because Mayor Mike Johnston has blown through so much money welcoming illegal immigrants and shoving homeless people into hotels that he's now had to lay people off to shave $250 million out of the budget. That has Councilwoman Flor Alvidrez waffling on her earlier yes vote to give money to the project. My prediction is that this WILL move forward and this is just Ms. Alvidrez showing she cares for laid off workers.

REPUBLICANS STOP SHADY NAME CHANGE Democrats wanted to change the name of their ballot measure to hide the fact that it is a huge tax increase but the Republicans stopped it on a party line vote. Read more here.

AN INTERESTING WAY TO LIST A BILLIONAIRE This story about Colorado's billionaires I found it interesting when they listed who each of our billionaires in Colorado are:

Forbes said Anschutz, the richest person in Colorado, made his fortune through oil, railroads, telecom, real estate and entertainment. Meanwhile, Malone is known for his media deals, Stevens is a Silicon Valley venture capitalist, Ergen is a cofounder and chairman of EchoStar and Stryker is the founder of Bohemian Foundation.

That Stryker is Pat Stryker, who inherited her fortune from her grandfather's fortune. She is a totally reliable Democrat and part of the four who turned Colorado blue. The people on the list (although I'm not sure how Mark Stevens ended up on this Colorado list as he lives in California) who MADE their money generally lean right, some very much so. I wonder why it's so easy for Stryker to give away other people's money, as Democrats love to do? Perhaps it's because for her money isn't something she ever had to worry about.

DENVER VOTERS WILL DECIDE ON FLAVORED TOBACCO BAN And on a massive bond issue that would give the fiscally irresponsible city almost a billion dollars. Read about the other stuff you can vote on here.

ISRAEL JUST TOOK OUT HAMAS COMMAND And I'm sure Tucker Carlson is going to have to revise his Christmas card list after a precision strike on the residence of the cowardly Hamas "leadership" who don't actually LIVE in Gaza but direct attacks against Israel from there. Israel says they did in response to the attacks at a Jerusalem bus stop that killed six. Here is a fun video put out by Hamas teaching people how to kill people on buses, by the way.

Qatar called it a "violation of international norms" but I looked for a similar statement from them after October 7th and couldn't find one so I'm ignoring it.

ALMOST A MILLION JOBS EVAPORATED When the Bureau of Labor Statistics revised 12 months worth of jobs DOWN 911,000. Why? Because there is lagging data that shows a much more accurate picture of actual jobs and using that data, the jobs market has been soft since last year. HOLY COW STUDENTS CAN'T READ OR DO MATH And the numbers are SHAMEFUL. Look at this:

Twelfth-graders’ average math score was the worst since the current test began in 2005, and reading was below any point since that assessment started in 1992. The share of 12th-graders who were proficient slid by 2 percentage points between 2019 and 2024—to 35% in reading and 22% in math.

What is happening here? I think phones in schools are a big part of this so I'm interested to see what happens as more and more schools are banning them. And now with the rise of AI, kids are going to get even lazier and dumber if teachers don't do something to combat that scourge. Y'all, these are the people who will running our nursing homes and they aren't smart.
