A 13-year-old boy from Washington state has been charged with multiple felonies after authorities discovered a collection of firearms and writings related to mass shootings at his home. The Pierce County Sheriff's Office reported that the investigation began after community tips about the teen's alarming social media posts, which indicated "school shooter ideations" and threats to kill.

The teen, who is not currently enrolled in any school district, pleaded not guilty to five counts, including three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of making a threat to bomb or injure property. Authorities arrested him at his family's home, where they found 23 firearms, many of which appeared to be homemade using a 3D printer, along with loaded magazines marked with school shooter writings.

Pierce County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Carly Cappetto stated that the findings were consistent with past major school shootings, raising significant concerns. Despite the serious nature of the evidence, no specific target has been identified, and the investigation continues.

The teen's parents claim the situation is a misunderstanding, with the mother suggesting the social media posts were an attempt to "be cool" among peers. They have not been charged at this time. The teen remains in custody at the Remann Hall Pierce County Juvenile Detention Center, with a detention review hearing scheduled for September 22.

Neighboring residents expressed shock and relief that no harm occurred.
