Freddie Gibbs is facing some backlash from fans who weren't feeling his shots at Gunna.

It all started after Gangsta Gibbs arrived at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards in Long Island, N.Y., on Sunday, September 7. Once he found his seat, Gibbs realized that he was seated by Gunna, who attended the show as the official halftime performer. In a video he posted to his Instagram Stories, Freddie Gibbs was enjoying Ricky Martin's set and then panned the camera over to Gunna, who was seated a row or two in front of him.

"I see you, boy. Don't try to hide," Gibbs said. "I see you, boy. Ya rat bastard."

Freddie Gibbs ended the clip by playing his song "Lavish Habits" off Alfredo 2, in which he also refers to Gunna as a "rat bastard." Despite his recent diss, Freddie Gibbs and Gunna have been beefing since 2020. Their issues began after Gibbs criticized the Atlanta rapper for appearing on the TV series "Crime Stoppers" in 2020.

"If u was on crime stoppers TV u a snitch. Ain’t no way around it," Gibbs wrote on X. Gunna responded in his song "poochie gown," in which he rapped, "I can’t f**k with Freddie Gibbs/N****s tellin’ fibs." A few weeks after he dropped Alfredo 2, Gibbs revisited his criticism of Gunna amid the snitching allegations that stemmed from the Atlanta rapper's feud with Young Thug.

"When I said them n****s was on crime stoppers n****s said I was hatin," Gibbs wrote.

After his shots went viral, some fans fired back at Gibbs for clowning Gunna from afar but not stepping up to him in person. People like DJ Akademiks shamed Gibbs for posting his videos.

"Wait a vice lord Gangster 'Freddie Gibbs' saw a 'RAT' - GUNNA- and secretly recorded him and called him a rat n whispered to his phone for a minute," Ak wrote. "Then when he posted the video online he promoted his music over it ? I see why the streets dead."

So far, Gunna has not responded to Freddie Gibbs. He was at the VMAs to perform his song "Won't Stop" during the Under Armour halftime show. Watch his performance below.
