Florida Launches '2nd Amendment Holiday'
(Tallahassee, FL)-- Florida launched its "Second Amendment tax holiday" yesterday. Firearms, ammunition, and related outdoor gear will be tax-free through the end of the year. It's part of the budget signed by Governor DeSantis earlier this summer. The tax break covers a wide range of outdoor and sporting goods, including camping, fishing, and hunting supplies.
Florida Attorney General Challenges Prosecution in Road Rage Case
(Orlando, FL) -- Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is calling for prosecutors to drop a murder case against Tina Allgeo, arguing she acted in self-defense. Allgeo is charged with second-degree murder after shooting Mihail Tsvetkov during a road rage confrontation in Orlando. Surveillance video appeared to show Tsvetkov opening her car door and reaching inside before the shooting. State Attorney Monique Worrell says Allgeo sparked the crash that led to the encounter and insists prosecutorial discretion must remain independent. A hearing on Allgeo's motion to dismiss is scheduled for October 30.
Flagler County Teen Arrested for Bringing Gun to School
(Palm Coast, FL) -- A 15-year-old Flagler Palm Coast High School student has been arrested after allegedly bringing a gun to school and later pointing it at another student off campus. Deputies say the teen brandished the weapon during an incident at a McDonald's in Palm Coast Town Center, which was later confirmed through video evidence. Investigators searched the teen's home and found a 9mm pistol and ammunition in his bedroom. He now faces charges including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm on school property, and possession of a firearm by a minor.
9yo Boy Accused Of Bringing Loaded Gun On School Bus In Ocala
(Ocala, FL) -- A nine-year-old boy is accused of bringing a loaded firearm on a school bus in Ocala. Police say officers responded yesterday morning to a report of a student with a gun on a school bus. Officers safely detained the boy and recovered a loaded revolver. The firearm was taken from a relative's room without permission. The child admitted to bringing it on the bus and showing it to others. He was arrested and taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice on multiple charges, including possession of a firearm on school property.
Progressive May Refund Florida Drivers After Exceeding Profit Limits

Students will learn basic gun safety practices, like how to handle finding a gun and general firearm safety. Phillies Fan Father Speaks Out After Angry Fan Demanded Foul Ball
(Miami, FL) -- A heated situation over a home run ball on Friday at the Philadelphia Phillies and Marlins game in Miami has a father speaking out. Drew Feltwell was yelled at by a woman after he snagged the ball that appeared to fall in her general area. Feltwell had given it to his son and that's when the woman got in his face, demanding the ball back. The video went viral and Feltwell said he gave her the ball back to diffuse the situation. Feltwell and his family were given a gift pack from the Marlins and also met the Phillies' Harrison Bader, who had hit the home run that started the debacle. The woman was booed by the crowd and eventually left the game.
