What it Means to be a Weather Wuss
September 9, 2025
You may have heard a lot of talk lately about San Diegans being weather ‘wusses’.
But when you live in a place considered to have America’s finest weather, that’s what happens.
Most of us don’t like it when temperatures get too high or get too low.
And most of us don’t like it when it rains too much but we don’t like it when it doesn’t rain enough.
With cooler temperatures this week, after way too many days recently of very warm and very humid conditions, the change to milder temperatures is welcome news for weather wusses.
But with two weeks to go until the Autumn equinox and the official start of Fall, we know that more hot weather and some Santa Ana winds are likely coming over the next month or two.
And with the National Weather Service saying it is expected to be drier this fall with a La Nina coming, the brush fire in Lakeside this week is a reminder that red flag fire weather may still be ahead.
And that means being prepared, Those people in Lakeside Monday had to evacuate immediately, and as one resident whose home was damaged, told a reporter, “Now I know why they tell you to have a ‘go bag’ ready all the time.”
Something to remember whether you’re a weather woos or not.
