TRUMP SAYS THEY CAUGHT THE GUY And he did so on Fox News this morning. He used the words "with a high degree of certainty" about the suspect and said someone who knew the guy turned him in. Good. We'll wait to see what this clown has to say at some point. The NYPost has named him and I sure hope they are right or this kid's life is ruined.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO LIFT THESE KIDS UP WITH PRAYERS The family of one of the victims in the Evergreen shooting released a photo and would you look at this sweet kid's face? The other family has chosen to remain out of the public eye but please lift both of these kids up in prayers for a speedy and full recovery. It's all we can do. How can you not love a kid in a bowtie?

TRUMP'S POLICIES ARE HEADED TO THE SUPREMES And I'm going to be happy to get some clarification on what the limits of his power are. Unfortunately if the court sides with Trump it will be accused of "rubber stamping" for Trump, but I believe Amy Coney Barrett when she said this:

"We're not deciding cases just for today," Barrett said. "And we're not deciding cases based on the president as in the current occupant of the office. We are deciding cases about the presidency."

I want to believe that's true because these cases will define Presidential power going forward and I want the lines to be clear. From CBS News:

The justices are already set to hear blockbuster cases on redistricting, campaign finance and state laws barring transgender athletes from participating in girls' and women's sports.

Many of the disputes involving Mr. Trump's actions test the limits of the president's power, and rulings could have massive implications for his policies on the economy and immigration, as well as his reshaping of the executive branch.

I want clarity on the rules for the Executive Branch not just today, but for the future presidents whose policies I don't care for as well. This is what we should all want even if some of these rulings don't go the way we think they should.

WHY ARE SO MANY TEACHERS CELEBRATING KIRK'S DEATH? I noted the other day that there was a disproportionate number of women celebrating Charlie Kirk's death. The New York Post noticed it too, and they also noticed that a LOT of them are TEACHERS. I wish I were surprised but I'm not. Lots of young women hated Kirk because he urged women to get married and have children, which to them somehow equaled a threat to their existence. Isn't it ironic that the same women who love to shout about CHOICE get mad when someone urges women to make a voluntary choice they don't like?

THE NATIONAL GUARD IS HEADING TO MEMPHIS After the offer of help to bring their violent crime rate down was accepted by the Republican governor. This is the right move. If Trump can do something significant in the city that had the highest murder rate in the country with the cooperation of the Governor it creates more problems for people like JB Pritzker. The real upside is that violent crime in Memphis is almost always against black people. The last stat I could find about the race of murder victims was that 86% of murder victims are black. I'm not sure how long any dip will last though, especially if the same DAs keep letting violent offenders out of jail. You can't keep the National Guard there forever, so what's the long term plan? Just like DC, what's the long term plan?

HOW THE LEGISLATURE MADE EVICTIONS RISE Once again, when people who know nothing about something decide to "help" by passing laws that undermine the business practices that have long held to be standard bad things happen. We have another case of this in Colorado as new laws designed to help lower income people get into rental units has led to rising evictions as people can't afford the rents they signed up for.
