Time to End the Political Violence
September 12, 2025
The headline in the USA Today to end the week read: 'The week in America: Bloody news across political divides".
It was indeed a week of violence, a week that included fatal political violence with the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk…
And there was another deadly school this time at a high school in Colorado where a 16 year old student who was said to have become “radicalized by some extreme network” shot and critically wounded two students before killing himself.
And here in San Diego a fatal street shooting in Ocean Beach.
We even see and hear more cases of road rage it seems, having witnessed one in front of me during the week with two drivers shouting at each other and then trying to slam their vehicles into each other.
Violence, sadly, is all around us. Some pundits and politicians during the week called for what they termed a “reset”.
With those on the left, on the right, and in the vast middle, calling for a stand down from the incendiary rhetoric that can trip a switch in sick evil minds. And mental health, social media and religious leaders who are urging taking more serious steps to cure the things that can lead to violence.
This past week that was should motivate us to do something about it.
