Dave Bowman joins us today and in our 8am hour it’s Dave Does History. We’ll continue our look at the grievances that led to the Declaration of Independence.
We’ll begin our day with a look at public employment and political speech. Just where is that line? The first amendment restricts government actions, but what about when the government is an employer and needs to have rules in place for its employees? A state college employee in South Carolina has been fired for such action and Florida teachers have been warned about political social media posts.
The question is- what’s the right thing to do?
