Chappell Roan brought out a very special guest for a rocking duet at her latest show.
The "Femininomenon" singer has been in New York City for her Visions of Damsels and Other Dangerous Things pop-up tour and in her second sold-out show at Forest Hills Stadium on Sunday (September 21), she treated the crowd to a major surprise, introducing Nancy Wilson, the guitarist of legendary band Heart, to the stage for a live collaboration, per People.
It was a full-circle moment for the 27-year-old star, who told the crowd how she always covers Heart's 1977 hit "Barracuda" during her shows. She has previously declared her love for the track and praised the "unbelievable force" that is Heart lead singer Ann Wilson for having "the best rock voice of all time," Ultimate Classic Rock reports.
In a new interview with Vulture, Nancy shared how "completely honored" she was to join the "Pink Pony Club" hitmaker on stage, and how "it gives me hope and positive appreciation for where the culture is going." She also explained how seeing "throngs of young women" at Roan's show and "the inclusiveness and positivity" in the atmosphere was "mind-blowing."
"I've been waiting for a new renaissance to start with art in this cranky-old-billionaire mentality/white-guy culture that's been foisted on us," she said. "She's a shining light and a beacon of positive energy in the really dark time that we're in."
