A second detainee injured in a shooting at a Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility on Sunday (September 24) has died, according to the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). Miguel Ángel García-Hernández, 32, succumbed to his injuries after being removed from life support, as confirmed by his family on Tuesday (September 30). García-Hernández was one of three detainees shot by a gunman from a nearby rooftop.

The gunman, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, reportedly fired indiscriminately, aiming to incite terror by targeting federal agents. Jahn, who expressed hatred for the U.S. government, fatally shot himself after the attack. No ICE personnel were harmed during the incident. The attack occurred amid heightened immigration enforcement, which has stirred fear and backlash in immigrant communities across the country.

García-Hernández's wife, Stephany Gauffeny, shared her grief in a statement, saying, "My husband Miguel was a good man, a loving father, and the provider for our family. His death is a senseless tragedy that has left our family shattered." Gauffeny is expecting their fifth child. The first victim of the attack, Norlan Guzman-Fuentes, was identified earlier, leaving one more detainee still recovering from critical injuries.
