San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was among several key players ruled out for the team's Thursday Night Football game against the NFC West Division rival Los Angeles Rams, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Wide receivers Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs), Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jordan Watkins (calf), as well as defensive end Robert Beal (ankle), will also be inactive on Thursday (October 2) night, according to Rapoport.
"The #49ers have ruled QB Brock Purdy out vs. the #Rams," Rapoport wrote on his X account Wednesday (October 1). "In addition, the #49ers have ruled out Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) WR Ricky Pearsall (knee), WR Jordan Watkins (calf), and DE Robert Beal (ankle)."

Purdy initially suffered shoulder and toe injuries during the Niners' Week 1 win against the NFC West Division rival Seattle Seahawks, which caused him to miss two games, before returning in Sunday's (September 28) loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, at which point he experienced soreness again and was questionable for Week 5. Mac Jones, who started in Purdy's absence during Weeks 2 and 3, threw for 563 yards, four touchdowns and one interception on 53 of 80 passing, while leading San Francisco to wins in each game.
Pearsall is leading the Niners with 327 receiving yards on 20 receptions, while Jennings has been limited to nine receptions for 129 yards and one touchdown in three games. The Niners are already without All-Pro tight end George Kittle, who was placed on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury suffered in the team's Week 1, which will force him to miss at least one more game in adherence with NFL rules.
