Sherri Shepherd Calls Out SNL Over Lack of Black Women

On Monday’s episode of her talk show, Sherri Shepherd called on Saturday Night Live to hire a Black woman as a cast member immediately. She referred to it as a “break-glass-in-case-of-emergency” moment, recalling past skits where male cast members impersonated Black women.

She highlighted Keenan Thompson playing Whoopi Goldberg, and even noted that she herself was once portrayed by a male comedian. Sherri wasn’t having it in 2025.

“There’s so much talent out there,” she said. “This shouldn’t even be a debate.”
