Four individuals, including two children, were found dead in a San Francisco home on Thursday (October 8) in what authorities describe as a "suspicious" incident. San Francisco police officers discovered the bodies during a well-being check at a residence on the 900 block of Monterey Boulevard at approximately 1:20 p.m. The individuals were declared dead at the scene, according to a statement from the San Francisco Police Department.
The deaths are being treated as suspicious, and the department's Homicide Detail is leading the investigation. Officer Robert Rueca mentioned that it is possible one of the deceased could be the suspect, but no confirmations have been made. The San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting a parallel investigation to determine the cause and manner of death.
Neighbors expressed shock and heartbreak over the incident, describing the family as "very normal" with a routine life. Belinda Hanart, a neighbor, shared with KGO, "We are in shock, it's a tragedy and we're thinking about the family."
Authorities have not released the identities of the deceased, but local media reported that the family consisted of a mother, father, and two girls. The investigation is ongoing, and police have assured the public that there is no general threat to the community.
