Danielle Jonas is opening up about her private health struggles after being diagnosed with Lyme disease.

Danielle, who has been married to Kevin Jonas since 2009, revealed her diagnosis in a new interview with Parents that published Thursday (October 9). While she didn't reveal when she was diagnosed, the mom of two recalled trying to find answers after experiencing concerning symptoms, such as hair loss and skin irritations, per E! News.

"They tried to tell me it was anxiety," she said. "Finally, I had a biopsy that showed I actually had Lyme disease. I also had eczema on my scalp, which was likely from the inflammation [caused by Lyme disease]. The hair loss was very traumatic. I got to a point where I wanted to wear a wig."

She explained how she "had to go out and do things" with her husband and "wanted to feel like myself," so she got extensions, but that only irritated her eczema even more. Fortunately, she shared that while she still experiences symptoms and flare-ups, she currently has her Lyme disease under control.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Lyme disease is often caused by tick bites and can cause a rash, fever, chills, fatigue and muscle aches during early stages and severe headaches, neck stiffness, intermittent pain, heart palpitations, dizziness, facial palsy and more in later symptoms days to months after the initial bite.

Danielle is one of many familiar faces who have shared their experience with Lyme disease. In August, Justin Timberlake revealed his own diagnosis with the "relentlessly debilitating" medical condition, while Bella Hadid shared photos from a recent trip to the hospital for treatment.
