Madison Beer is looking ahead after closing a bittersweet chapter.
The 26-year-old singer has released a new single titled "Bittersweet," which explores the complex emotions surrounding the end of a relationship. The song follows her recent track "Yes Baby," released in September.
In "Bittersweet," Beer reflects on the emotional turmoil and growth that comes with moving on. She sings, "Now that it’s over, you blame it all on me/ I know I should be bitter, but baby/ Right now I’m bittersweet." According to Rolling Stone, Beer explained in a statement that the song is about recognizing the end of a chapter and finding peace in the journey.
"'Bittersweet' is about the end of a chapter and the difficulty of coming to terms with it, while also recognizing that deep down you know it’s for the best — and finding peace in that along the journey," she said.
Both "Yes Baby" and "Bittersweet" mark Beer's return to music this year, following following her July 2024 single "15 Minutes." Her song "Make You Mine," which dropped in February 2024, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Pop Recording.
In addition to her latest singles, Beer is set to perform at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City on October 15. The performance will be available to stream on Prime Video and Amazon Live in the U.S., and globally on Victoria’s Secret’s social media platforms.
