Authorities in Tennessee confirmed on Saturday (October 11) that no survivors have been found following a massive explosion at Accurate Energetic Systems, a manufacturing plant near Bucksnort. The blast occurred just before 8 a.m. on Friday, scattering debris over a half-mile area and was felt up to 15 miles away. The plant specializes in explosives for military use.

Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis announced that more than 300 investigators conducted a "very delicate, very methodical" search of the site, but the expectation is that all 18 people who were at the site are deceased. "We've recovered no survivors," Davis said during a press conference, describing the scene as one of the worst he has ever witnessed. The cause of the explosion remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.

The explosion devastated the local community, with residents describing the impact as similar to an earthquake. Accurate Energetic Systems has suspended operations and expressed condolences to the affected families.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms are assisting in the investigation. The company has faced previous safety violations, and a similar explosion occurred at the site in 2014, resulting in one fatality.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has asked residents to pray for the families affected by the tragedy. A vigil was held on Friday night, where community members gathered to support each other during this difficult time.
