COMMON SENSE BROKE DOWN SCHOOL FUNDING And the numbers are kind of eye popping when you see it all written out. Kelly Caufield joins me today at 1 to discuss the details, which you can find here.
VOTE FOR THESE PEOPLE FOR DENVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS I've been trying to work on a voter guide for school board races but there are SO MANY of them and I don't have good intel on a bunch of them. The Denver Gazette has endorsed these four people for Denver Public Schools and I sure hope you'll give them a good look and your vote too.
CONGRESS WANTS THE SUPREME COURT TO SHUT DOWN BOULDER'S STUPID CLIMATE CASE You may have forgotten about Boulder suing a bunch of oil and gas providers over climate change back in 2018. That's probably because literally NOTHING has happened on the case in the meantime. Now over 100 members of Congress are asking the Supreme Court to take up the case and it's clear violation of the role of Congress when managing things like this. You can read it here but I'm hoping the Supremes tell Boulder to shut up and sit down.
BOULDER'S MINIMUM WAGE HIKES ARE WORSE THAN DENVER'S And we already know what's happening there as restaurants are going under left and right citing the high cost of labor. Now Boulder county is like "hold my beer" as they jack their minimum wage up to $25 an hour by 2030. Farms interviewed here say it's unsustainable at that level. Boulder doesn't care and say full speed ahead! And you wonder why I'm not going to retire in this state.
IF HE'S GONNA BE THIS PETTY DURING THE CAMPAIGN Imagine how petty Littleton Mayoral candidate Patrick Driscoll would be if he became Mayor? Driscoll was walking neighborhoods and was caught on a RING camera taking a piece of campaign literature off someone's door that had previously been left there. Whoops. Not a good look and sorta tacky. If you can't win without feeling like you have to cheat perhaps you shouldn't win?
COLORADO STATE PATROL REMINDS YOU TO ZIPPER MERGE And I feel like we're starting to get this, but more of you need to learn the PROPER way to be kind and let ONE PERSON ahead of you to merge. Just because you got into the single lane a mile before the merge DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT. There have been several accidents in a construction zone where zipper merging would solve the problems.
JP MORGAN INVESTS WHERE THE US GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT I'm not sure whether or not JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon is investing in these national security type companies out of patriotism or to curry favor with Trump, or because he thinks the government will step in and buy more of these but I'm glad he's doing this. Check this part of the article out:
The bank said in a statement it would invest up to $10 billion into companies in four areas: defense and aerospace, “frontier” technologies including artificial intelligence and quantum computing, energy technology including batteries, and supply chain and advanced manufacturing.
The money is part of a broader effort, dubbed the Security and Resiliency Initiative, in which JPMorgan said it will finance or facilitate $1.5 trillion in funding for companies it identifies as crucial. It said the total amount is 50% more than a previous plan.
“It has become painfully clear that the United States has allowed itself to become too reliant on unreliable sources of critical minerals, products and manufacturing — all of which are essential for our national security,” JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon said in the release.
I agree. This is what I was talking about yesterday with Eric Boehm from Reason.com. I'd much prefer to see private money sunk into this than government money. And in this story we have info about US companies going all in on AI development in the US. I have a question about that though. Where will the power come from?
MAYOR MIKE'S BOND SUPPORTERS ARE FACING ETHICS CHARGES I don't think this will decide at all whether or not Mayor Johnston's two billion dollar bond issue (that's what the repayment will cost) passes, but it should concern taxpayers that organization who get taxpayer dollars are funding the effort to get more of them. You should vote no because they have enough of your money already. Full stop.
FRAUD IS FRAUD AND LETICIA JAMES COMMITTED IT Allegedly. The issue is whether or not she claimed a home she bought as a rental home was claimed as her primary residence. The lie saved her about 19 grand over the life of the loan. Even though no bank is seeking relief from this crime, we know from the Trump conviction that you don't need a victim to pursue a politically motivated case. This is 100% a politically motivated prosecution but she started it so here we are. The notion that somehow she should not be prosecuted BECAUSE she ran on a platform of "getting Trump" because we KNOW it's a political payback is so quaint. This story explains why what she did was not just fraud for her, but signs of a potentially larger issue in the overall mortgage market. I agree wholeheartedly with this story from The Free Press that even though tit for tat is not good in this case maybe it's well deserved. Read this:
In her 2018 victory speech after being elected attorney general, she promised to shine “a bright light into every dark corner of [Trump’s] real estate dealings, and every dealing, demanding truthfulness at every turn.” In a 2024 X post, defending her prosecution of Trump, she wrote, “When powerful people cheat to get better loans, it comes at the expense of hardworking people. Everyday Americans cannot lie to a bank to get a mortgage, and if they did, our government would throw the book at them. There simply cannot be different rules for different people.” You can’t make that up.
She's right you know. She should have had her own house in order before launching her politically motivated attack. Just saying.
THE SIX THINGS THAT MAKE EMPLOYEES THE HAPPIEST And not a single one of these is surprising but how many of us can say we check all six of these boxes?
SIMPLE STEPS TO PUSH OFF DEMENTIA I'm literally doing all of these things already, but are you? Find out here.
HOW ABOUT 12 MINUTES OF WATCHING FAMILIES BE REUNITED? Get ready to ugly cry.
LET'S TALK ABOUT TRUMP IN THE MIDDLE EAST The Free Press, which is the news organization created by unabashed Israel supporter Bari Weiss who is now overseeing CBS News, has the best coverage on Trump's moves in the Middle East. Here, Aaron MacClean writes about how Trump let Israel fight without demanding a cease fire without the full release of hostages that were still alive (Hamas has already breached the cease fire by not returning the bodies of the dead hostages) and that his strategy was pretty much do the opposite of what Biden did. He's right. In this piece Victor Davis Hanson writes about the ten things Trump did to totally upend diplomacy in the Middle East and I'm going to get into this one today. For a guy who is allegedly hated and despised by the world, they all showed up for yesterday's photo op in Egypt, didn't they?
My favorite story on The Free Press today has to be this one about the Free Palestine idiot activists who aren't happy that the Palestinians aren't being bombed anymore or something. They are whining about this not being a Palestinian state or some such crap. Heh. Would you like some vegan cheese with that wine? If these people really cared about the Palestinian people they would have been rooting for the total destruction of Hamas. Period.
HAMAS CONTINUES MURDERING PALESTINIANS And I'm over here waiting for the next round of protests in the streets demanding Hamas be held to account for their genocide against Palestinians. And waiting. The Democratic Socialists of America, anxious to show their anti-Semitism, sent out an obnoxious statement condemning the ceasefire. Because it was NEVER about protecting Palestinians. NEVER.
AI CAN HELP PREVENT SEPSIS IN CHILDREN Did you know that sepsis, infection that causes life threatening organ disruption, is one of the leading causes of death for children? I had no clue. This story about a new AI program that can be used to predict which kids who come to the emergency room will develop sepsis is super cool. AI is going to disrupt the way we do medicine in the best way.
HALLOWEEN IS BRINGING OUT THE BRAT Back in my day when we went Trick or Treating we took whatever crap people put in our bags and said thank you. Now people are complaining that kids today are entitled pigs who take more than their share. Part of this we've done to ourselves, but making full size candy bars a thing at Halloween. Now we see that people are spending $200 on candy? What? No. Just no. I read this earlier this week and maybe this is why we are spending so much? Just saying. How many times do you have to restock? This is why I don't buy Halloween candy. That and we don't get Trick or Treaters.
IF YOU'RE MAKING SWASTIKA DISPLAYS YOU'RE JUST STUPID There, I said what we should all say about this story of some idiot who put a swastika up on a hill in JeffCo. Perhaps this was dumbass kids who are too stupid to know better. But if it were an adult, I have only this to say: you are an idiot, and anyone seeing this knows you are an idiot. Perhaps it is best to remain silent and be thought an idiot than to put up a swastika and remove all doubt. Idiot.
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS ISN'T READY FOR JD VANCE Yikes! Holy cow watch this exchange:
BREAKING - Viewers are demanding an apology from George Stephanopoulos and ABC for cutting off Vice President JD Vance and going to commercial after Vance exposed him for lying about Tom Homan, saying, “Here’s, George, why fewer and fewer people watch your program.” pic.twitter.com/FH3es7IalV
— Right Angle News Network (@Rightanglenews) October 12, 2025
Stephanopoulos is obviously angry about Vance coming at him like that. Because the JOURNALISTS are supposed to come in heavy, not the guests. But good for JD Vance for not sitting there and answering the "when did you stop beating your wife" comments. To be clear about the Homan case, the tapes Steph. referenced have NOT been released and Homan was NOT a public official and there was NOT an explicit quid pro quo arrangement, all of which make a prosecution here very hard to accomplish. That being said, did George ever ask Joe Biden about the money his son hoovered up while keeping 10% for "the big guy"? No? They STFU.
CHARLIE KIRK IS GETTING THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM TODAY Posthumously of course, because he was murdered by a radical left winger. Read about the honor here.
THE SKI SWAP IS COMING TO COLORADO AGAIN And if you need new gear for the season or would like to sell some gear that isn't working for you anymore you really need to read this. They aim to make skiing more affordable for families and newbies and I think that's cool.
WELD COUNTY YOUR FOOD BANK NEEDS YOU! The food bank in Weld County is looking for donations of food and cash as demand has skyrocketed and donations have stagnated. Find out more here, but drop off some cash or canned goods or meat or eggs if you're able. You're helping your neighbors here.
NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES OFTEN COME WITH RE ENTRY PROBLEMS This is a super interesting part of having a Near Death Experience (NDE) that I had not considered. Some people have trouble reconnecting with their Earthly bounds and other humans when they return from the great beyond. Marriages end, careers are given up, and so much more. Read it here.

TRUMP SAYS HE MAY NOT BE HEAVEN BOUND And this sort of humility is actually kind of endearing.

WHY BRONCO OWNERSHIP IS TALKING RETRACTABLE ROOF And it's good news for you crazy folks who love football in the winter elements. Watch below or click here.
@denvergazette Speaking to media in London on Friday before the team's Sunday matchup against the Jets, the Denver Gazette's Chris Tomasson asked Broncos CEO and co-owner, Greg Penner, about the possibilities a retractable roof on the Broncos future potential stadium presents. Penner said the plan is for the team to play in the elements, but a retractable roof would allow for concerts and a potential Super Bowl in the colder Winter months. 🎥 Chris Tomasson #broncos #nfl #stadium #london #sports

THE BEST STORY ABOUT ALEX SINGLETON'S SISTER The Broncos linebacker has a sister with Down's Syndrome and the NFL Network did the best story about her and their relationship.
Thank you @nflnetwork for sharing a piece of mine and Ashley’s relationship! I hope you all enjoy! pic.twitter.com/4gNWuFBCGO
