Florida Sues California Over Licensing Rules

(Tallahassee, FL)-- Florida is suing two west coast states over their licensing rules. Attorney General James Uthmeier says allowing illegal immigrants to drive big-rig trucks is unconstitutional and risky. The suit was filed against California and Washington. It comes after a deadly crash in Fort Pierce earlier this year involving an illegal immigrant truck driver who had a commercial driver's license from both states. He's currently being held at an ICE detention center in California's San Joaquin [[ WAH-keen]] Valley.

Palm Bay Censures Councilman Over X Posts

(Palm Bay, FL)-- The Palm Bay City Council voted yesterday to censure Councilman Chandler Langevin [[LANG-uh-vin]]. The vote was in response to social media posts he made accusing Indians of exploiting the US immigration system. Langevin says he may sue the council. His lawyer tells WESH 2 the council is trying to limit Langevin's free speech rights.

Brevard County Demolishes Nuisance Homes

(Titusville, FL)-- The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is doing its part to improve some neighborhoods. The BCSO's High Intensity Target, or HIT, unit is tearing down nuisance homes. The first home taken down was in Melbourne on Seneca Drive. A neighbor says the home had been neglected since the owner died five years ago, and it was driving down property values. He also tells Spectrum News 13 it was screwing up the whole neighborhood, but now, there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

Man Wanted For Sucker Punch In Broward County

(Lauderdale Lakes, FL)-- A man is hurt after an argument turned violent in Broward County. The sheriff's office announced yesterday the man was sucker punched Saturday outside an Aldi grocery store on North SR 7 in Lauderdale Lakes. Deputies say two men were arguing inside the store. The suspect left but waited for the other outside the store, and when he came out, the suspect punched him. The victim fell, hit his head and suffered significant and serious injuries. The BSO posted surveillance photos online of the suspect. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to contact them.    

OC Police Surprised By Response To Call For Pot Smokers

(Ocean City, MD)-- Police in Ocean City, Maryland are a bit taken aback by the overwhelming response to a call for volunteers to smoke weed in front of them. The request for adults to take part in the smoking session at the upcoming Maryland Highway Safety Office's DUI Conference went out on social media Tuesday afternoon, but registration closed within hours when folks came out of the woodwork to volunteer. The program gives student officers a chance to observe real-time cannabis impairment so they can easily recognize it when they hit the streets on their own.

OK Girls B-Ball Team Returns Championship Trophy

(Oklahoma City, OK)-- An Oklahoma girls high school basketball is showing what true sportsmanship is all about. The girls of Academy High School in Oklahoma City gave up their championship title after they noticed a scoring error in the final game. They thought had beaten Apache High School by one point with a buzzer-beating three-pointer. But head coach Brendan King went home and re-watched the game, and noticed the error. His team decided to concede defeat, and King presented the championship trophy to Apache High School's team.
