142nd edition of My Random Thoughts: Sports, TV, music, food, life.....
I proposed to Kelly 28 years ago this month. I put the ring in the pumpkin we were carving for Halloween.
When you were a kid, ever take two Pringles, and put them back to back and in your mouth to look like a duck?
Sunday’s Bengals loss did something to me. It made me wonder if I’m doing this wrong. I wonder if it’s worth getting upset anymore? Maybe I’m just tired of putting in more than I’m getting out with all of this.
New TV show we picked up: Black Rabbit on Netflix w/ Jude Law and Jason Bateman. Imagine The Bear meets Ozark. Two episodes in.
Song I cranked the radio to this week: Pat Benatar's Love Is a Battlefield.
Seeing Casey and Peyton deliver a speech at The Miracle Ball/Nuxhall Humanitarian Award event brought me a joy and sense of pride that everyone should get to feel at least once in their life.
Casey said he wasn't nervous until he scanned the room as he was talking and made eye contact with Marty Brennaman and Sean Casey.
I really think Zac Taylor got overwhelmed in the moment when he made Sunday's 2nd and 10 run call. It's yet another example of why he should be coaching the game and someone else should be calling the plays.
I miss cool album covers and music videos on MTV.
Old school Halloween candy: Wax fangs and lips
Not many scary movies unnerve me. Watching 'Saw' by myself years ago unnerved me.
With college basketball starting, I have no idea what to expect from any area team. Heck, I'm still trying to catch up on who is on each roster.
I miss taking the kids to Johnny's Toys (Latonia) and 'playing' grocery store in the back.
I highly recommend the Hot Honey Butter Brats from Walnut Ridge Acres (Clarksville). Picked them up at the Hyde Park Farmers Market.
Good for Lou Anarumo.
I've never seen The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
With the Bengals playing the Bears, I'm reminded of the first big story we covered at CLTV in Chicago: The day Mike Ditka was fired. I was on their air for seven hours. It was crazy.
I believe Duke Tobin has an obligation to talk to the media once a week during the season. Zac Taylor should not have to be the only face and voice of the franchise.
How sweet was a new/fresh Nerf football? Then it would get picked at, waterlogged and then crusty.....
It feels like the Reds already got the best out of 35-year old to be Emilio Pagan.
Based on what I'm hearing about Bengals season ticket renewal opt out rates, we just might be headed for a Marvin Lewis like end with Zac Taylor. I'll never forget Mike Brown declaring fans had lost faith back then.
The coolest story Michael Jordan ever told Norm Van Lier and myself on our radio show in Chicago was about running out of Halloween candy one year. He drove to the store for more. Imagine seeing MJ in the candy aisle at Target.
Gotta give Zac Taylor credit for the level this offense is operating under Joe Flacco....and better OL play, better run game.
We continue to highly recommend a day-trip/weekend trip to Madison, IN. Each time we go, we say we should really consider retiring there.
Don't worry about the things you don't care about
