Charlie Puth can't wait to become a dad.
The "Light Switch" singer recently shared that he and his wife of one year Brooke Sansone are expecting their first child together, revealing the happy news in the sweetest way in the music video for his latest single "Changes," from his upcoming album Whatever's Clever!.
During an appearance on the Tuesday (October 21) episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Puth confirmed he's "gonna be a dad" but didn't share any additional details as "I was told not to reveal the gender." He did, however, share some hopes about his little one's personality and interests, per People.
"I hope the baby likes music because it's the only thing I'm good at," he said joked.
He even has some personal anecdotes for how to inspire his baby's love for music, explaining that he will like "do what my mom did" when she was pregnant with him.
"My mom used to put the headphones — it was the '90s, so the headphones were big — just put them on her tummy. I think I listened to James Taylor and Luther Vandross, and I got a wide array of music. So I'll do the same thing, whether Brooke likes it or not."
On Wednesday, Puth took to his Instagram to share some photos of "mom and dad" getting ready for the new addition to their family, from a tiny toy piano sat right beside Puth's own grand piano to an adorable crib set-up with penguin pillows. He also shared a couple snaps of Sansone's growing baby bump as well as a clip of the baby's heartbeat on an ultrasound that is "like a dance song."
Whatever's Clever! drops March 6.
