Legendary bandleader and singer Gilberto Santa Rosa was recognized for his lasting impact on Latin music during the 2025 iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina.
Santa Rosa, well known as El Caballero de la Salsa, was honored with the iHeartRadio Corazón Latino Award presented by State Farm during the event at Miami's Kaseya Center on Saturday (October 25). The award is presented to musicians who have made extraordinary contributions to Latin music and the community, and with a career spanning more than four decades, Santa Rosa has done exactly, most notably with his influence in salsa.
The iHeartRadio Corazón Latino Award celebrates not only Santa Rosa's legendary career and impressive vocal talent but also his legacy in shaping the sound and soul of salsa music worldwide. Santa Rosa has received many awards throughout his career, including Grammys and Latin Grammys, and has created hits that have stood the test of time, such as "Conciencia," "Que Manera de Quererte," "Perdoname," "Vivir Sin Ella" and "Conteo Regresivo."
Singing and dancing around the stage, Santa Rosa demonstrated how he became a lauded bandleader with his own performance, joining a full band of musicians on stage, from trumpets triumphantly cutting through the sound to drums keeping time and guitars strumming along.
During his set, Santa Rosa was presented with the Corazón Latino Award on stage from Enrique Santos and Dayanara Torres and he thanked everyone in a heartfelt speech. See the moment in the video below.
Hosted once again by Enrique Santos, the 2025 iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina was a night full of show-stopping performances. In addition to Santa Rosa, other artists to take the stage include Morat, Kapo, Oscar D'León, Danny Ocean, Olga Tañón, Chyno Y Nacho, Elvis Crespo, DJ Nelson and Lenier.
