Part Of Florida's Gun Law Ruled Unconstitutional

(Fort Lauderdale, FL)-- A Broward County judge has ruled unconstitutional the state's law prohibiting adults under 21 from carrying concealed firearms. The judge said the 2nd Amendment protects "the right of the people" to carry guns, and an adult is defined as 18, therefore the 19-year-old challenging the law should be allowed to pack heat. The charge of Carrying a Concealed Firearm has been dismissed. There was no initial comment from the state attorney's office. It's believed the ruling only applies to this case -- for now. The teen was arrested after an officer stopped to help him with his broken down vehicle and spotted the semi-automatic in his waistband.
